Re: Isle of wight

Primus, I do envy you! I love the Isle of Wight as I used to go there every year when I was younger. My mother worked in a Solicitors office and her boss had a holiday home in Seaview, Nr Ryde. He allowed the staff in the office to stay there at any time as long as it wasn't Cowes Week when he was there for the yachting. I loved Sandown, Shanklin....well everywhere really!!

Re: Isle of wight

The most disappointing thing I found with the I.O.W. was the Needles, land around seemed to be owned by one company too commercialised.
Had a job to get a shot like this from there now, unless you pay to go down on the lift to the beech.

When you leave on the ferry go to the left on the boat and look back to get a good shot of the Spinnaker tower

Just printed off the tickets for the ferry, hadn't realised how expensive it is now but hey ho, staying at ventnor , booked a nice( hopefully ) cottage
It gets good reviews ,going in June so hope weather will be OK, bus passes, not there yet another few years to go before we qualify but that doesn't mean to say we can't travel by bus , really looking forward to it

It's a lovely place, i'm sure you'll enjoy it

I was there in 1969 as a Girl Guide, we were camping with in our tents near an airfield at Bembridge and had a great holiday...

Re: Isle of wight

I have been there a many times in the last few years, we shall go again if given the chance.
I love to take the hovercraft over to the mainland from Ryde to see my granddads memorial on the Obelisk at Southsea.
It costs about £15 return well worth the experience.
