I only wondered as my brother researched it as possibility last year, very keen to go up there.
He Googled "what's skegness like" and was so upset by some of the things he read rapidly changed his mind

But the beaches up that way are wonderful, out of season!

We'll soon see what it's like... That's me all packed and ready for the morning... Oh if only the weather stays like it's been today! I went a walk this afternoon without a coat....

Guess I'd better get off to bed now. Early start tomorrow...

Hi everybody - I got back from Skegness this afternoon.

The Derbyshire miners retreat was a very good place to stay ... I was so worried that it might not be very good with it being so cheap but it was lovely. The food was plain but beautifully cooked and plenty of it. The rooms were comfortable and good entertainment every evening.

We were about three miles out of Skegness so we used our bus passes a lot nipping into the town and visiting Boston & Mablethorpe.

I took my hudl hoping to keep in touch but they didn't have Wi-Fi..

Nice photos. The accommodation looks nice. Any photos of what the rooms look like? Remembering your past experience!!

I didn't take any pics of the room but it was very good.
Spotlessly clean. Warm & comfortable - TV, kettle - all the usual comforts.
A good size - no complaints at all.
