Re: It's That Time of Year Again! Arachnids!

This time of year spiders are looking for a mate, so they come indoors where it’s warmer, they’ll soon disappear as spider mating season only lasts about two weeks, conkers, or any other spider deterrents, are just myths I’m afraid..

I don't mind the garden type, I've had one living in my wing mirror for ages.
I love webs in the garden in the dew of the mornings, but house spiders NO!

I don't know how I managed to live in S. Africa for four and a half years!
Minds you I only saw a few big ones there, I don't mind snakes or anything else but big Spiders and scorpions UGH!

I had a close call one night. Imagine .. I'm asleep and rouse because something bothersome is tickling my face. I sleepily swatted at it , it felt soft and squashy. Tickling stopped. Job done. Went back to sleep.
Next morning I found a dead spider with a big fat glob of a hairy body about the size of a 10 pence piece lying dead on the floor.
Thank goodness I wasn't asleep with my mouth open Imagine waking with all those legs stuck in my teeth.

Had rats in my garden once .. but the kind neighbourhood cats dealt with them. All I had to do was scoop their corpses up in the morning. Big big things they were too.

Had a spider in my kitchen today. It decided to abseil down from the ceiling and was doing well until the kettle started boiling. He got back up there pretty quick.
