It seems that way myra , it's the same with youngsters wearing hoodies , many shopping centres have banned them , you can't like the student protest have your face half coverd up wearing a scarf , seems to be one rule for one and one for everyone else , but that leads to anger in community's , it doesn't help

...neither does prejudice against another group of people who happen to be different from yourself.
A little more tolerance and the world would be a better place..

Re: Burqa ban

Whenever I see a group of young men with their hoodies on with hood up I wonder what they're up to. My car was stolen by a hood up hoodie yob, captured on cctv. Of course you can't tar them all with the same brush, but it looks very suspicious to me.

Women hiding their face is entirely different.

Re: Burqa ban

I think some women should hide their face.

Re: Burqa ban

I wear a hoodie never been asked to remove it, I also think hiding faces at a violent protest is very different to just going about your daily life minding your own business. If people cannot understand the difference .... well not sure what more can be said.

Re: Burqa ban

I'm not sure why wearing a hoodie should be a security problem. It doesn't cover the face, does it?

Re: Burqa ban

Perhaps for some faces covering would be preferable.

I have paid for petrol standing behind someone wearing a crash helmet on many occasions , they usually lift up the visor.
I hardly think someone who was going to rob a petrol station would fill up their tank then queue up to up to pay .

I have never seen a muslim women wearing a burqa and a crash helmet filling up the tank of a motorbike I must admit .

Re: Burqa ban

But on the other hand banning it could be the thin end of the wedge - goodness knows where it might lead.

Re: Burqa ban

I'm glad if no one has ever seen a gang of youths with their hoods up creating havoc.

I'm not talking about the everyday person walking around with their hood up lol

Does a rainmate count?
