France says 'NON'

Trust the French to vote for independence. I love the French. They have always gone their own way and insisted on autonomy and individuality. They can always be depended on to think for themselves and not be pushed around by anyone. I wish we had as much guts.

Vive la Republique!

Exactly, look at the French Unions, different to the spineless ones we have here, including I am afraid the one that I belong to.

It wasn't always like that Purwell. It was the unions that made this country the best place to live and work, with fair working conditions and decent wages. We should have had a revolution in the 1980s and got rid of Thatcher and her cronies when it became clear they were determined to destroyed our rights and give everything over to fat cat asset strippers. They had to destroy the unions to do it.

It was the unions that brought down our car industry -our mining industry- our ship building industry 0ur coal industry, through continuous strikes/ walkouts and pay demands. No company can carry on like that.

Maybe that has been forgotten

Hi

Hollande has plummeted in the ratings, he is deeply unpopular and facing an Election next year.

Political posturing, that is all.

He is seeking to protect the highly inefficient and highly subsidised French Agriculture, which absorbs vast amounts of EU money through the Common Agricultural Policy.

No its was Thatcher and we are still paying the price of her vile policies. she is the real architect of our current woes

Sadly Tory light Blair and Brown were no better, muppts one and all sold off the family silver and let the banking twerps loose to finish's off.

Re: France says 'NON'

Thatcher was the only one who had the guts to send help in the Falklands war.
Labour would have rolled on their backs and let the Agentines take it.

Love or Hate Mrs Thatcher she did what she said she would. No other politician of any party has the same backbone since

Try running your own business with workers going on strike when the feel like it, you would soon change your minds

Without business men and companies, workers would have no work to go to, then what kind of mess would we be in
