Update re Jokes/'funny' threads

Hey all, just a quick note to say we have renamed the old 'Jokes' section to 'Humour'.

From now on please post all humour, including funny vids, jokes, circulars etc etc in this section - and please keep it clean.

For those of you who like a bit of 'adult' humour, there is a sub section of the humour section just for that - so please keep all threads in every other section 'clean'. Though please note NO PORN or other extremely offensive material will be allowed - it's for light-hearted fun only.

I think this is the best way to keep everyone happy and keeping the forum relatively clean for all ages (as anyone can read the forum as a guest - apart from the adult humour section)

The default 'latest posts' link will not include the adult humour section posts either so if you want to view those threads you must go to it directly.

Also, if you spot a thread that you think should be in the one of the humour sections - just use the report post icon with a short note to let me know - thanks!

Thanks for that Azz. I certainly don't consider myself a prude, but some of the threads/posts of late were less than pleasant, and were raining down on the General chat board like spam, imo. If adult humour is confined to one section then those of us who don't find it funny can avoid it, and have no cause for complaint.

I know some other posters felt uncomfortable with the adult 'humour', which was suddenly unleashed onto this forum. I did consider leaving the site if it had been left unchecked! However if it is contained on a board of its own, I am more than happy to remain.

Re: Update re Jokes/'funny' threads

Sadly some people think they are being amusing by trying to 'shock'! I suspect most of us aren't that shockable, as Over 50s we have seen it all, or most of it anyway. But whilst a bit of adult humour might be ok occasionally, having a forum saturated with it is not pleasant!

Re: Update re Jokes/'funny' threads

If I was going to be offended at anything I read on an internet Forum , I would much rather it be smut than reading someone bully and abuse another Forum Member by casting scurrilous lies and aspersions !

But then again i`m far too bradminded , thickskinned and enough of an Adult not to be so offended .
