Getting involved

In someone else’s business, I don’t think that is a good thing.

But, what if they asked you to become involved.

Would you?

Depending on what it was?

What say you?

Can I just say politely, I’m not looking for an argument,

Also if it’s a family member, would you involve yourself ,if asked?

Re: Getting involved

Pauline I have learnt over the years it is best not to get involved in the business of others but I am prepared to lend a listening ear....

Re: Getting involved

I would listen, and offer advice if it was asked for. Other then that, I keep out of it. There's nothing worse than a busybody!

Re: Getting involved

It depends whose business your getting involved with. If a complete stranger and overheard conversation then no. However if it is a family member and you can forsee an error in their judgement you can put right then a word in their ear may stop a disaster

Sounds about right, Realspeed, but there is a very line between involved and interfering.

It depends on what they are asking you to do.

Re: Getting involved

I keep well out of other people’s business.
Firstly because l am not interested and secondly, it can turn on you!

If it’s a family member and they ask me, then l will give my view but then it’s up to them what they do.

Re: Getting involved

I need both sides of the story. Only then I can be objective.

We rarely get both sides using street justice, so there are lots if's and but's attached to any advice I give. This often makes friends and family feel as though I'm not on their side when, actually, I am.

I'm a great fan of Judge Judy. She should be President of the World!

Re: Getting involved

I'm with Art here. I try hard not to get involved unless I'm asked what I think. It's up to them whether they act on what I think, and if they don't and it all goes belly up, I would never, ever, say 'well I did warn you' or similar.
