'Wanderlust'

Is it not possible for Playwrights to write a Drama without graphic scenes of a sexual nature?
In ‘Wanderlust’ the first few minutes included a couple having sex in bed and apparently not enjoying the process, after which we were invited to watch the women masturbating and then a man in his office at work masturbating over scantily clad girls in a magazine, and seen by a startled female colleague.
Is it all about sex? Surely we all know how to do it by now.
Where are all the good interesting stories about real life or is everyone Sex Mad these days.
I need a nice Cup of Tea and a Chocolate Éclair to revive me,

Azure, you are not alone! I thought exactly the same as you.

The whole hour was nothing but the 'F' word and/or people having sex.

I struggled to find any story whatsoever.

I it was an hour of tacky rubbish just to explain a couple were going off sex with each other. That could have been shown in 5 mins.

I agree, Mups I do not see the point of such rubbish.
It is like junk food for the mind. and it debases the Actors as well

Yes, but maybe they don't care.
They still get paid whether we liked it nor not.

Re: 'Wanderlust'

I had the good fortune to read by accident what it was going to be about so not on my list for viewing tonight .

I don’t know who the makers of these programmes and dramas cater for ....there was a scene in Bodyguard on Sunday that was so unsavoury I shouted at her ..the lead actress .
Quite shocking tho what they must have to do if the writers demand it to earn a crust .

I agree as well. I live in Australia and thought we were a pretty moderate mob. But I work on trains and watch young folk looking at porn on there phone in front of everyone. This is without regard to both the people who are unfortunately exposed to this rubbish, but also shows they have no interest in what others think of them. When did we become Japan with their porn cartoon novels read by the salary men during their commutes. Disgusting!

I'm so pleased it's not just me thinking this , the graphic sex on TV is so boring now , thank god when it does come on I'm on my own because I must be getting like my mum who would get up and switch the TV off with embarrasment. So unnecessary .

I recorded this last night so now don't think I'll watch it

Re: 'Wanderlust'

I think the idea was a good one but the programme itself was rubbish. It didn't focus on the characters enough to make us care what happens to them. I knew it would be rubbish when they were saying on morning TV that 'everyone was talking about it'. Well they weren't, until now and we are all saying how bad it is.

The scene with the wife and Marvin was laughable. Blimey, if I ever have sex that shallow, someone have me put down please.

Unfortunately, there are another five episodes to go.

Ooer, me quotes gone peculiar. I am trying to reply to Dongles post above.

Maybe the next 5 episodes will be different? Maybe in their 'wisdon' they thought a randy first episode would grab the public's interest and make them watch more?

Apart from the grabbing and groping though, I didn't even like the actors/actresses. As I said earlier, I like a story too and found this just didn't hold my interest.

Maybe Mups. We will let you watch them first and tell us if it's worth it or not.
