When we lived in Hertford, a near neighbour worked for one of the Pharma companies and it was she who explained why new drugs could cost the earth for each dose. It's not just the cost of developing one particular medicine that works, it's about recovering the cost of all the failed attempts to find drugs that fight over diseases, viruses, etc. Add to that the cost of administering and carrying the drugs trials, preparing all the documentation and submitting multiple versions for the various approvals authorities and so on, and the cost of and maintaining the appropriate patents.Re: Government told to ‘come clean’ over Covid deals by spending watchdog
