It was only stopping for a few seconds at a time, so hardly time to really focus tbh. I just kept snapping away hoping for the best then deleted all those that didn't work.

To be honest Barry, that's the first one I have seen in the garden, I wonder if it was a female laying eggs? The tail was certainly dipped most of the time.

Really good pics, dongle.

Apart from the colourful body, those wings are fascinating. So see-through and fragile looking, yet support that body in flight perfectly.

As usual, isn't nature grand.
