French Ban Fireworks at Euro Disney

(AP), Paris , March 5, 2003

The French Government announced today that it is imposing a ban on the use of fireworks at Euro Disney. The decision comes the day after a nightly fireworks display at the park, located just 30 miles outside of Paris , caused the soldiers at a nearby French Army garrison to surrender to a group of Czech tourists.

Re: Yes We Love The French. "Don't We."?

I live in France. Have for a goodish while now.

There are some good things here, things I love about it and its people, things that annoy me.

But isn't that the same everywhere?

At the moment with the Tour de France coming up, the roads are infested with guys, shall we say not always as young and fit as those on the TV, all wearing the tight cycling shorts, helmets and Maillot Jaune, reliving their cycling club glory days and nearly getting creamed by trucks.

Mind you, at least they are out keeping fit not just binging on beer and crisps in front of footie on the TV

Well it also seems to be necessary for serious cyclists to shave\ wax their lower legs. That also may be a bridge too far, I'm thinking?

Born in West Yorkshire myself, where men had long pockets and short arms. Somehow I doubt that has changed very much.....
