Xmas cakes and Puddings

Do you make your own, if so, has anyone started making theirs yet?

I usually make my Xmas cakes and will probably start them early November.

I've never made my own puddings though.

Re: Xmas cakes and Puddings

I haven't done a cake for years
I do puddings though - so easy just to throw things together and steam away - I've even got a microwave recipe for last minute; lovely taste but not as black as traditional

I always imagined pudding making to be slightly complicated..

I used to but now my daughter has grown up it doesn't seem the same.

We made an enormous gingerbread once, it was good fun.

Re: Xmas cakes and Puddings

I`m the only one that eats xmas pudding so don`t usually bother with that. I love christmas cake - I usually make one then regret it when I eat too much! I like lashings of brandy and cherries in mine, but leave out the nuts.
