Time

Is it just me or does time speed up as one gets older?

When I was young time seemed to pass so slowly,
.. watching the clock hands creeping along waiting for lessons to end,
..counting the endless days until Christmas/school holidays/birthday.

Now I can't can't keep up with time, it rushes by all too fast and I feel sometimes I am on a giant merry-go-round travelling ever faster...

Re: Time

You're so right. The thing that brings it home to me on a weekly basis? It's today and its the bin-men. Friday again? Rubbish to go out again? But didn't I only do it yesterday or the day before? Amazing.
And as for the numbers involvds with birthdays ..... I feel as though I have at least 4 a year

Re: Time

You are absolutely right Meg! Fortnights come and go in the space that used to be taken up by a couple of days ............ I'm sure it's the influence of that black hole in space somewhere - we are whirling quicker and quicker towards the plughole ....... watch out below!

Re: Time

Most certainly does Meg.....No sooner have you done something as DM says, and its time to do it again, yet when I was younger time seem to drag...

Re: Time

It's all relative. When we were little, oh say 10, a year was a whole 10th of our life so of course it seemed forever. Now that we're, say 50 ... it's only one 50th so of course seems to flash by. Look at it that way, makes sense!

Yes it's a matter of perspective, proportion and ratio!

Re: Time

Agree with you Meg-days seemed to be endless when I was young-now they seem to disappear in a flash-sometimes I wish time would slow down and let me catch up!
