I am here because Twink made me join here!

Quite a few of us joined here at that time. I am not sure who originally found this site and alerted us to it ....but l’m glad they did!

I do miss many of the members who were big characters on here at the time but have sadly disappeared!

My son persuaded me to join a dog site when he left home, he thought it would provide like minded people with whom I could chat so that I wouldn't get lonely.

So I joined a dog site. Then I found Azz's 'Dogweb' in 2004, it grew rapidly with scores of members from all over the world. Members were able to advise and support each other, we laughed and cried in equal measure. Debates ran to hundreds of pages and went on for weeks.

Then when Azz started OFF a number of us came over here to help get this site going. A few of us are still here

My husband gave me a computer for Christmas 2002. My son, who works with computers, taught me how to use it and suggested I join a Cat Forum. I told him I couldn't do that but I was persuaded and decided to give it a try. I found Azz's Cat Pages forum in 2003, joined it and loved it there.

Then in 2009, Azz produced OFF and with a little gentle persuasion I arrived here and was Member No.2

Mind you they do tell us some great stories and post good photos..

Its a good idea Lee darlin', and I'll go along with it, but do we really need an excuse for a booze and nosh up???

Any excuse will do UJ....and Meg is creeping up to the magic number post count too. We can have such a good time at Mag's party that we can have an excuse to do it all over again.

I've been on various forums in the past covering a range of different specialist subjects: Music, entertainment, physical exercise and others.
I hated Facebook and left after about a week. Why do I need to know that somebody I don't know from Adam in Colchester had two slices of toast this morning with marmalade on one and Marmite on the other. Or that a fifteen year-old ballet dancer in Morocco has just seen a cat with three eyes and a wooden leg? Why do people express their views to a statement like that with 27,361 'likes'? What has happened to real life?

Anyway, I digress. I joined OFF as I turned fifty mainly because I believed the standard of conversation may be more mature than some other sites such as the afore-mentioned multi-national one I just spoke of. This is true (except for the politics thread obviously), and I've been here ever since putting in my two penneth worth and I enjoy it very much.
