Rachel Johnson Sacked by Mail on Sunday

I hadn't realised. But a sensible move by the new editor
. I wondered why she hadn't done a column last week. First I thought she might have pulled a sickie with Boris having his marital breakdown (and not wishing to discuss it). Then I wondered if she had been sacked.

But didn't get round to googling it to find out. Then she turned up last night on Newsnight and spoke about it.

Paul Dacre summed her up when he wrote about her earlier in the year:

"Soon after announcing he planned to step down from the Daily Mail, Dacre criticised Johnson’s column in a diary for the Spectator, saying it “gives banality a bad name”. "

And if the new editor of The Mail doesn't like Littlejohn (the previous editor regularly referred to RL as peerless) he will always be welcomed with open arms by the MoS.
