Another scam using the phone line

I had a phone call earlier from some man who knew my name and said they sent me a letter last year to say the extended warranty on my washing machine had expired and did I wish it to continue.

I told him he was a lying toad and I don't have an extended warranty on my washing machine.

It looks like this number is being used for other scams too....

Thanks Meg I have received calls from that number, I just hang up.

If I don't recognise the number on the display on the phone l just don't answer.

I have got to the point now where I just let everything go to answerphone.

For a while I was getting pestered on my landline by Microsoft, or so they said. My landline doesn't have a display to show any numbers so I would answer it.

It faded away though, and now I use my mobile as my main number.

I keep a referee's whistle by the phone - scammers never call me twice!

I know a very elderly lady,who gets these scam calls,..she just puts the phone down now,..do they have information on who they call and do they know their age?...I never seem to get them anymore,(scam calls),..but must admit,they nearly caught me once!...thanks. for the info,Meg.

What a brilliant idea,I have a high pitched dog whistle!..somewhere in the house.

Would they be able to hear it unless it was a dog calling you?

The worst is just silence....and you just keep saying hello but nothing just silence....very creepy especially of you are home alone.
