Frogs derived from the fame of frogs legs as a French delicacy is one such. The French in return refer to us as Les Rosbif because of our taste for roast beef.
Staying with the Frogs there are many much more derogatory names given to them. "Cheese eating surrender monkeys" being one of the better known. It's actually found its way into The Oxford Living Dictionary, the successor to the OED.
Closer to home there are informal and in some cases mildly offensive descriptions for people from some counties, cities,, and even towns.
