Cat
Whilst visiting my drug dealer today (
) (Pharmacy) for my month's supply of medication, there sat a cat at the front doors.
I've seen this cat now on numerous occasions, and he/she regularly goes into the Pharmacy, takes a seat, and has a kip. Nobody seems to mind.
I think it's a she, so I'll refer to it as such. Tonight she was sat outside and as I approached her, I stroked her, she mewed at me, then she followed me inside.
Whilst waiting for my meds she came and sat on me knee. Folk were saying how well looked after she appeared to be, but one of the staff said that she's there from when the chemist opens, to closing time, then she strolls off but no one knows where.
When the chemist gave me my meds he said I could take her home if I wanted to, and I'd love to. It seems to me that, if she's spending all her time getting affection from members of the public, then she's perhaps not very happy with her home life, albeit she's obviously being fed. Nobody knows where she lives.
Now the saddest thing is, her tail has been docked! Whether or not this has been because she's had an infection which necessitated this extreme surgery, or it was done for some sort of gratification by her humans. I do know though that cats are exceptionally proud of their tails. She is not a Manx cat.
When I was leaving, I stroked her again and she gave me such a piteous look.
Any thoughts anyone?
