Sad event (involving a bird)

I heard a thud on my bedroom window and rushed out to see a lesser spotted woodpecker had hit the window and died

(Internet photograph)

...such a shame..

Oh no. Sorry to hear that.
Whenever that happens here, I hold my breath hoping they're okay.
Poor little thing.

Thats sad Meg

Same happened here last week but it had a happier ending. We thought this little bird was dead and scooped it up in a bag and was just about to bin it when it fluttered and came round Sat on OH's hand for ages before flying off to find its family

Re: Sad event (involving a bird)

My first thought was thank goodness it was not a sad event involving Chloe! I have huge windows and it is not uncommon for birds to hit them, but mostly they are just stunned and after a time sitting on my hand they flutter off.

Hi Ania I have altered the title so no one thinks it is Chloe .
I think that is the problem with my house, large windows .
