My Tomato Plants.

This year's tomato plants. I set the seed about 6 weeks ago and have grown them in the house. I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up a little then they will go into my (cold) greenhouse. In my experience tomato plants will tolerate a little bit of cold but I always cover them over with newspaper if there's a frost forecast - I haven't lost any plants yet (touch wood !)

They look good Alan, stems not only thick but straight too.

Ania, I'd take a chance if you are growing them in the border.

Re: My Tomato Plants.

Superb plants Alan, mine are way behind yours but I only germinate them in the house then they are taken into the greenhouse, we cover everything with fleece if cold is forecast which seems to work for mine..

Re: My Tomato Plants.

Mine are 3 weeks old today and also indoors.

Out of a pack with supposedly 15 seeds I have 18 plants, all healthy but of course a lot smaller!

Mine are bush plants, not indeterminate, 'cos I prefer them. stevmk2

They are "Shirley" Mups, a medium sized tomato with a traditional taste.

Re: My Tomato Plants.

I had just a couple of 'Shirley' last year, they were nice toms, but will just stick to the cherries this year I think.
