A lovely bird Alan.We've just started using 'niger seed' in our garden and the Goldfinch just love them.

This is a Green Rosella, endemic to Tasmania

A juvenile, on the right, trying to get to the seed. Lots of fun when there's a group down to feed, the younger birds will be ducking and weaving to grab a seed, the older birds putting on their 'fierce' pose', making mock attacks

many of these birds I have seen in books and wonder about them...glad to see they are photographed by people like "you all". Picked up the you all while in Florida for 4 years..

These are Sulphur Crested Cockatoos. About the size of a small chicken. Often flying in large groups they can make an amazing din!! They first turned up at the table just after I had planted out the Primrose 'plugs'.

I'd probably call this 'ready for my next feed' or maybe 'you're adopted'

it was only a matter of time before all its friends came by, not sure the neighbors were over happy with the racket!!

They really are a beautiful bird.
I love the close-up.
That last picture has so much happening - it's wonderful. Love the one with the extended wings.
But they really do need to work on their eating manners don't they!
