When I did it that technology didn't exist. I think it was probably more fun then & much harder to find the boxes.We used compass, map & common sense, nothing else to help us. Some of our guides were evil, once we were searching all over Bear Tor for one & the guide was actually sitting on it. When we twigged we shoved him off & there it was. That particular 'box' was buried in the ground. We'd find them in rock formations, under rocks & once hanging over a cliff, luckily one of our intrepid members climbed up & retrieved it for us, then he had to put it back after we had all stamped. It was great fun & I got to walk a very long way & saw parts of Dartmoor I'd never have thought of visiting.
It's got it all hasn't it - fun, laughter, fresh air, exercise and beautiful scenery.

Yes & awfully long walks at marching pace up vertical Tors & over rough moorland..
Couldn't do it now, I was so much fitter then.

I dont know if this qualifies as adventurous?( Fool hardy maybe ) ?
But, l got married on a saturday!
Got on a second hand motor bike with a single seater side car
on the monday! and headed of to dover complete with passports
and a tent and map headed fo a village in greece called Saravalli?
The journey took 2 weeks , and led us through France; Switzerland;
Italy; Yugoslavia,(as it was); and into Greece!
We had numerous punctures on the way which accounts for the
two weeks travelling time! The only languages we spoke were
English and Greek(the brides home language )!!
The whole "honeymoon" took 2months .
We are still married BTW !!
Probably because we got married again in the Greek way once
we got there?

I will be 85 this week end if l get that far??
We had another adventure seven years later as a family of four
when we emigrated to SA to start a new life !!
But thats another story!
