Not surprising they would be seeking interviews in the EU if the link below is to be believed, just look at what they receive on leaving and what MEPs are paid:

"A nice little earner, if you can get it" as Del Boy would say!
Joke, isn't it ? Mind you, we aka the British Tax Payer still pay for Tony Blair Security, and we see how much he is worth. At one time said to be £6 million a year from the tax payer. So win or fail, it's still a honey pot at the end of the line. No wonder there are so many ' career' MPs'.

Yes, no wonder and they are the ones we don't want – they simply cannot lose though!

Not forgetting it's also possible to make rules / laws for themselves, like the one where unless an MP's jail sentence for wrongdoing is for at least a year they can continue as MPs. Totally wrong I believe, any wrongdoing, especially if found proven by a Court of law should result in the politician not allowed to hold public office again.

The MEPs are far worse though, their expenses don't have to be declared so they can never find themselves in Court. This is backed up by the ECJ who rule this is completely legal! They make the laws to suit themselves and allow continuation of this 'gravy train', all funded by tax payers all over the EU.

The worry now is less women in government and parliament.

Will political parties have enough time to select others to stand!

Re: MP's Standing Down

Yet another MP is stepping down – at this rate we'll be running out of them soon!

"Culture Secretary Nicky Morgan has announced she will not stand in December's general election.

The Loughborough MP said she "can't commit to another five-year term" and said she intended to "be at home far more".

In a letter, she said her role had a "clear impact" on her family and modern MPs were the subject of abuse."

I checked it and couldn't find such a word. Perhaps 'dissension' might have been the word you were intending to use?

dissension
NOUN

mass noun
Disagreement that leads to discord.

I thought Soubry was standing down, unfortunately, she isn't and I will still have to sit with the remote controller in my hand to silence her ranting when she appears on TV.
