"Pups" in your antivirus programme?

No, not little doggies running around in there!

But the use of the term "Pups", in your anti virus progs, makes me smile!

The program runs, and finds no nasty virus malware!

But it does spot some, probably harmless, left over bits of code from other programs.

"That's no good" says the prog writer, "How am I going top sell this antivirus prog if it keeps finding nothing?"

So, they use then term "Potentially Unwanted Programmes" to get your attention. (PUPS)

You're not supposed to notice that, if they were malware/virusses, they should have been called out, as such, by their program, which you just ran!

They call them out, anyway, as "Pups", to give you a fright!

Then you'll pay up!

Just my opinion, of course!

Good thinking, Meg!

I'll put a bowl of dog food down, next to my PC, and see if it works!
