Re: Battle of Britain

Omah.
I was about to post the same as I am a WW2 history buff. A very well made film but, as my wife used to say, "You always have to find and error somewhere or other" just because I pointed out that some of the Spits in the film had four bladed propellers which none did have then.
By the way. There were no genuine Stuka,s in the film, They were all R/C models.

Re: Battle of Britain

Yes a great film, I always try to watch it if it’s on, although mrs p is not a fan of war films, I seem to remember going to see it with my mate but I thought it came out in 69, so I must have been a few years older when we went to see it,

Re: Battle of Britain

Another great film made 15 years early in 1956 was.....

Reach for the Sky.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LgYtZ0yLCM&t=3831s

Two hours long and free to watch.

At 2 hours 8 minutes it said all only thirteen pilots from the Battle of Britain took part in the flypast in 1945 after the war was won.

Re: Battle of Britain

It would be good to remake this film, with today’s cgi it would be amazing

Like most remakes and sequels, they'll never improve on the original.

Certainly a Stella cast there, had forgotten Edward Fox was in it - oho - that's done it - will have to raid the DVD collection and watch it now!
