So far...
No one is claiming the ring.
Not definite that they are diamonds, but the metal is definitely yellow gold. There's a 14K stamp and I performed a quick density test. It's also not magnetic.
Now I am thinking that it might possibly belong friend of one of the twins, so I will pursue that idea.
One friend thinks Santa is leaving early gifts in the furniture.
If Santa, God, or anyone thinks this will motivate me to clean the house top to bottom, they are sorely mistaken
. I'd rather have running shoes

Hahahaha....The latest is that a (male) friend has suggested that I might have surreptitiously purchased and planted the ring myself as a way to add to my jewelry collection.
Tsk, tsk, tsk.
Little does he know that I would much rather have a news surfboard, which is entirely too bulky to stuff under sofa cushions.
