I agree that we don't need a physical border in NI, and have said so before.

I have also maintained that if the EU think they need a hard border, let them set it up and maintain it.

This is nothing more than yet another aspect of Project Fear.

We can still ban these, that is allowed under WTO Rules.

It is tariffs we cannot put on some and not others.
Good. Perhaps we can ban German cars and French wine too. That would show them!

That would be a great idea.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that May has that much common sense!

I think it is time May got tough and demonstrated to the EU that we are serious about leaving without a deal if they can't be more accommodating.
I agree, but just do it and then wait for them to us come with their desperate offers!

Perhaps the negotiating parties utilize different definitions of a hard border.
For the EU a hard border means checks on roads and in harbours where cargo enters the EU/ireland. It doesn't mean patrolling the farmland where floks of immigrants wander into nortern ireland. If you don't want those entering, stop them yourselves. The EU has no need to stop them, if they prefer the UK above the EU.

I have to say that is one of the wildest claims ever.

Mad cow, Salmonella eggs, dodgy chicken meat, Horsemeat burgers??? Come on? Seriously?

Re: "Two Years Working to Stop Us Leaving the EU".

Nice to see the "Surrender Bill" from Theresa May, Jean-Claud Juncker and Leo Varadkar got canned yesterday. Rumour has it that it is delayed indefinitely, so that means bye bye to the backstop.

The UK got a glimpse of what it would be like under EU rule in the future with that document... the response from leave, remain and undecided was overwhelming.

A no-strings-attached exit from the EU is what we need.
