My mom wasn’t the greatest cook but she did know how to make a great Yorkshire pudding which we’d have with a roast beef dinner and I really did love it especially with gravy added. Yummm!
Now her Shepard’s pie was another story.

It is so tasty.
The traditional way before people had ovens. Roasting tin on a coal-fire with meat above it (a rarity in poor households). The pudding was used to flesh out the dinner so no-one was hungry.
