Lunch or Dinner?

What time do you cook your big meal for.
I do mine for slightly later than lunchtime - 2.00pm.

Some people have theirs in the evening for dinner.

How about you?

Re: Lunch or Dinner?

My Mum would always do her big meal spot on at 2pm...she was uncanny.

I don't know what time my meal is today at sister's: both she and niece are vague about what time it'll be served, and what time I can go!

When on my own I always prefer the big meal in the evening, and shall do so tomorrow when I cook my own.

Re: Lunch or Dinner?

If were at home we eat at about 1pm, but this year were cooking and taking the whole christmas dinner at about 2pm in tureens to my Mum & Dad in-laws as they are very old now, and it's something different for them.. Were taking them a large hamper of food and drink too. That'll keep them going for a while

It will be dinner around 2 -3 pm, and Christmas pudding around 5pm. Got a light grilled breakfast on the go at the moment.

Re: Lunch or Dinner?

If we have my mum here (as we have this year - we alternate the years with my brother and s.i.l. playing host), then lunch is around 1.00 to 1.30. Mum's in a dementia care home where they have their main meal at midday, so if we leave it much later she gets agitated.

On the alternate years, when we're on our own we eat around 6.00 pm.

Re: Lunch or Dinner?

I'm going to my daughter's today and my son in law cooks so we'll eat when it's ready usually around 5 pm ... I don't have to do anything so that's fine by me

We call it dinner 🎄🎅🎄🎅
