If you found human remains in your garden

Would you tell anyone or would you rather keep your lawn intact?

Now there's a random question. I was digging earlier and was wondering what I would do if I found a human skull.

I think I would keep quiet about it.

Not me, I love archaeology and history so I'd probably dig up the whole plot...

Hi

I would think that I should have buried the body deeper.

Longy, You are allowed to bury one body in your garden without planning permission!

If you found a skull with parts missing or signs of injury then maybe you should report it?!!
Otherwise, boil it to make a nice nourishing soup out of it!!

I would certainly be interested but not sure if I would want forensics digging up my new flower bed.

Re: If you found human remains in your garden

Oooh, no I wouldn't dongle. I would tell authorities.

Imagine it the other way round for a moment. Supposing someone you knew and loved had gone missing once. Imagine you never knew what happened to him/her. You had been unable to have a burial or any proper closure. There have been many cases like this.

But . . . imagine also, how you would feel if one day you discovered a neighbour had found the missing remains one day, and never told anyone, and so you were left always wondering.

That's another way of looking at it.

Re: If you found human remains in your garden

I did know someone who's girlfriend went missing and the police dug up his whole garden. It turned out she had simply left him without saying.
