Re: Premium Bonds

Winning nothing is, obviously, one of the drawbacks of owning Premium Bonds. If that's tied in with a substantial investment, say 20,000, then that money is rapidly losing value.

I have a current acount with Santander, in which I keep the maximum of 20,000 - that returns interest at 1.5% (it used to be 3%) plus cashback on regular bill payments which comes to nearly 25 a month. Since I opened the account a few years ago, I have "earned" over 2,500.

It may not be "big time" but it's regular .....

1.5% is a pittance return for giving such hard earned cash to a bank.

If you'd put that cash into a P2P lender like Ratesetter you'd have earned anywhere from 3 to 5% per year.

You appear to have forgotten that I have posted many times about RateSetter, in which I have been investing for several years .....

You also appear to have forgotten that you replied to some of those posts .....

Your advice, therefore, is not required .....
