Why do people say that phrase in conversation?
Do they think we don't understand what they are talking about or something?
Or are they lacking in their vocabulary talents?

Have you come across any other "obvious" questions or comments?

In Australia we tend to ask a question and give the answer at the same time: "How are going mate. Good!!!. That's the way" "Gee you're looking good. How you feeling. Good". You catch my drift.
