Re: Two Busy-Bodies Or Nuisance Cyclists?

In article it states: Cyclist had informal permission to cycle there.

The women's explanation. Mrs Hacket-Pain confirmed she had spoken to police and said the matter ‘is being dealt with through the appropriate channels’.

Refusing to discuss the ‘traps’, she said: ‘Wendy and I met coincidentally in the woods that day – we were socially distancing.’

Asked about the incident, Mrs McLachlan said: ‘I don’t think that is something I want to comment on, thank you.’

Hmm, not surprised.

There are places in our local woods where you can no longer walk thanks to bikes. They have turned the walking trails into mud.

There are places for things and woodland footpaths are not the place for cyclists.
Trouble is roads are too dangerous for cyclists. We don't have any bike lanes on our roads round here so if I had a bike I would be frightened to go on the road.

The pictures show a well worn path, a little civility would allow walkers and cyclists to use it safely.

Civility costs nothing. Shameful that two sixty year olds have forgotten that and have been humiliated by a teenager.

They used to be but then Scotland brought in that blooming Right to Roam law, and it's caused nothing but trouble ever since.

Sounds like the two old bags wanted to ruin the footpath so that only ramblers could use it. We had the same sort of situation years ago with the Ramblers Association trying to prevent 4x4s from using a designated green lane claiming that they caused damage even though the damage was minimal and was repaired on a regular basis.

Yuppies in Lycra have spoiled it for pre, well mannered old geezers, in ill fitting jeans, who chunter along, but are tarred all the same.

They overstepped the mark, maybe did not realise the cyclist had a camera. Belligerent old women.

Re: Two Busy-Bodies Or Nuisance Cyclists?

The police would have decided the cyclist had a valid reason for being there, the women did not have any reason to deliberately block the path to cause injury. No better than vandals.
