Travel Insurance - How much do you pay?

Travel Insurance - How much do you pay?

Hope it's not a personal question.

I've traveled the world Never bought insurance in my life. OK I was young, fit & health & daring.

Now I'm not so young, fit & healthy. And beginning to wonder if Travel Insurance would be the sensible thing to do. I understand credit card companies are are happy to charge a nominal amount if you pay using their card. But what's it worth? How much does proper Travel Insurance cost for a Brit OAP at death's door?

Re: Travel Insurance - How much do you pay?

On our last trip to Turkey in June we were £142 for 15 days from GetGoing travel insurance. I am 81 and had 3 medical conditions to declare. My wife had 1 condition to declare.

Thanks guys

do these people have some kind of list, or does the nhs class different condition as "risky"?

I've got
hypertension, polycythemia, hyperthyroidism, but all under control with meds. I wonder what they'll make of that lot.

If they are all controlled by medication you should be alright d00d.

No No if you declare an illness they will put the price up.

Just get a price for nothing wrong with you and then get a price with any conditions you take medicine for and see the price go up...There's a a big difference

We all know that galty. If you do not declare and anything goes wrong you are not covered.

Worldwide mult-trip excluding cruises but including Wintersports with £5k cancellation cover and existing medical condition (Asthma) allowing up to 50 consecutive days in one trip just short of £105 for the year.

I agree completely. You absolutely must declare existing conditions as even illnesses that can be linked to them will not be covered.

I don't know how old d00d is but as an 81 year old I would have difficulty arranging yearly multi-trip insurance for some of the prices quoted on here.
