Re: World War II

Point taken but the thread started "WW2" Which started in 1939 and ended in 12945. Not 1066.
Yes the French turned out to be bigger an enemy than friend.
We gave shelter to DeGaulle and he let everyone know how he hated the British
During the relief of Paris America,s General Patton,s 3rd army were on the point of entering the city but was ordered to hold back and allow Philipp Lecieres 2nd army with DeGaulle at it,s head to enter the city first.

Ok then!
What about London being the first city in the world to come under
bombardment by ICBMs and cruise missiles??
Some of which were launched from our "allies" (France's) territory?
What more proof do we need to confirm froggy antipathy !!

Presumably that's where the ridiculous title of 'war hero' was attributed to him.
I can't imagine deGaulle actually doing anything heroic other than scuttling back to the safety of Britain as soon as France came under threat. Typical Frog.

Yes. Typical Frog. And he insisted there were cine cameras there to film his "Triumphant entry"
Was this not the same man who tried his hardest to stop Britain from becoming a member of the Common Market?
