You can adjust the level of fill on every cistern whether it's a fill valve or ballcock.

Just a question of altering the ball/float or valve.

Ah yes. We did that with the old cistern by bending the arm of the ballcock

Those ball valves can be a pain in the arse if you live in a hard water area and leak from the centre when you turn them off.

Most bathrooms /sinks/basins fitted within the last ten years or so should have had isolation valves fitted.

We have lots of them at work and I have found that lots of them will leak when turned off and continue leaking when turned back on. Sometimes if you open and shut them several times and experiment to find a position where they will be OK, but I have had to change a lot of them.

Yes that's true, they do quite often do that. I have always put it down to cheap makes. Pegler or similar would probably be ok.

Strangely enough I too have a slight leak from a very small pipe..i think it's me age!
