Re: Boiler!

Day 2
Had a bit of a moan at Nick this morning - he didn't check the shower water feed and it came off the tank - which he has drained and disconnected!

Got all hot and sweaty heaving furniture after having to refit all the carpet upstairs - not happy having to wash down with a kettle-full of water.

Still, went swimming @ 07:00 before he turned up and had a shower over there - it's 150 yards away and I get in free as an OAP that lives locally!

He's having to hack through a big block of concrete to get down to the gas pipe to reroute to the Combi.

I found more downstairs when we did the lounge / diner but God knows why they are there - the rest is boarded!

They did strange things when they built these houses - it's got torching instead of roof felt for instance - that's lime mortar and it drops off all over the loft!

Still water-proof though but it is a 1926 built house so years of moss and lichen and muck from rain's sealed it off.

Better get on - things to do today.

Have a good day if you can. stevmk2

New condensing boiler is at least 93% efficient your old back boiler was around 72% you will save money

Back boilers were a killer in the past with CO.

Put a new gas/electric fire in the chimney opening.

Re: Boiler!

Well it's all almost completed but the hole where the Back Boiler and Gas Fire was can't be blocked off the way we wanted at the top as the gap is full width of the chimney so we will have to do something else but it's being boarded up now.

I've got a mess to clear up again but it's no too bad. stevmk2
