Postage increase

For those of us who still buy postage stamps and send letters, you may want to know they are increasing the price of stamps again, later this month.

2nd class will go up 3p to 61p
1st class will also go up 3p to 70p

Royal Mail say:

The increase will come into effect on 25 March and is "necessary to help ensure the sustainability of the Universal Postal Service", the Royal Mail says.

Despite the increase, Royal Mail says its stamp prices rate among the best value in Europe.

70p! No wonder not many people send lots of Christmas cards any more.

Re: Postage increase

Buy a book of stamps now before they go up - you'll still be able to use them after 25/3.

Are you sure Mags?
Will they still deliver things with insufficient postage on, or will they make the recipient pay the extra?

Re: Postage increase

Thankfully it is still free, to sit right down, and write yourself a letter, provided you don't post it.

Hmm, that's true.
Mind you, even though the price isn't on them anymore, they will no doubt change the design or colour.

I'll send you something and put the wrong stamp on and we can test it.

I've used my old stamps when they have increased other years. I purchased them as 1st (or 2nd) class stamps so as far as I was concerned they were still valid

Send Gertie, I'll pay any extra cost if they ask for it

Just getting her nighty and toothbrush, and boxing her up as we speak.
