Re: What book are you reading now?

I've just finished, "Just After Sunset" short stories by Stephen King and now started "Fluke" by James Herbert about a dog, " Somewhere in the depths of his consciousness was a memory clawing it's way to the surface, tormenting him, refusing to let him rest. the memory of what he had once been . A man..."
I read it years ago, can't remember much about it though.

Bought it in Weston Hospital, for £1!

I'm currently reading 'Getting rid of Matthew' by Jane Fallon.

The heroine of this story has really got herself in a pickle. I can't wait to see how she gets out of it.

I am re-reading The Common Years by Jilly Cooper, I have read it many times before & it's one of my favourites of hers. I still cry at the sad parts & laugh at the funny.

Re: What book are you reading now?

Just bought Roger Daltrey's (The Who) autobiography "Thank you Mr. Kibblewhite" which came out yesterday. Having read his bandmate Pete Townshend's book a couple of years ago, I expect this to be just as excellent.

C J Sansom's "Tombland", seventh in a series about Matthew Shardlake - a lawyer in Tudor times. Arrived yesterday - just read first two chapters - it is going to be good!

I'm going to buy that tabby...for anyone who likes history and a good mystery Sansom is brilliant... so well researched too. Shardlake is the most unlikely hero..but read it to find out...I love these books.

Robert Goddard is back on form with his latest thriller Panic Room. Crime Fiction without the cops, just ordinary people caught up in a bit of international intrigue. I like these people, I like Goddard's writing style with underlying humour.

3rd in the M P McDonald series of post apocalyptic fiction sympatico syndrome, got as far as invasion and I have to say it's one of the best post apocalyptics I read in a while. No zombies and much less violence. Just people trying to survive.
