Rubbish. Nobody is keeping you in. You followed the article 50 procedure correctly, so you WILL leave on 29 march.
Disadvantages of your leaving I have heared so far, are for the UK to solve. E.g.:
On 1 april france custom officers withdraw the borders and refugees travel the canal to dover. And while your customs officers try to stop them, the more clever ones enter england via it's backdoor in ireland. The wish expressed in the referendum, be able to control your own borders, will have been achieved.

Hi

The Border Agreement between the UK and France is not an EU Treaty and forms no part of Brexit.

Both sides can withdraw from the agreement with 6 months notice.

It is not solely our responsibility to solve the Irish Border question.

If we leave with No Deal, Ireland gets a hard border anyway.

During*the EU referendum campaign Mr Macron vowed to tear up the Le Touquet agreement if the UK voted for Brexit. "The day this relationship unravels, migrants will no longer be in Calais,” he said.

He adopted a more conciliatory note during a recent visit to London but insisted that he still wants to renegotiate the agreement.*

"I want to put the Le Touquet border deal back on the table,” he said. “It must be renegotiated, especially the parts that deal with the fate of isolated child migrants.”

Should the deal be scrapped, ferry companies risk being made responsible for stopping illegal migrants from crossing the Channel.*

As Ireland is in the schengen zone and theUK is not, formally speaking there already is a hard border. Up till now both sides have not taken any hard action on it. To stop an influx of persons from the EU (citizens or refugees) it is the UK interest to regulate that.

Liechtenstein and Norway. Oh,silly moi...& Switzerland, all FAMOUS for their 'hard borders'...and all seeming to do just fine. [especially Switzerland-where DID all that 'numbered account' money come from...]
As the EU demand a solid Irish border, even though the Irish themselves don't, let the EU erect it, from imported EU stone/wire/watch-towers...[using imported EU builders, natch] Why can this 'discussion' not take place without descent into schoolyard taunting and insults?

Than stick to the facts. Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Norway are in the EFTA, Lichtenstein joined the schengen in 2008. And the irish border is a sort of Jeruzalem. No solution will ever be accetable to all involved.

I know that. We ALL know that.
However,it appears totally unacceptable to you to be able to either recognise or accept the truth of us actually knowing anything...oh,how we bow to you, master...do please, continue to castigate anyone who's opinion doesn't align with yours.

....and there remain NO hard borders between aforementioned countries and their EU counterparts, no matter HOW you phrase it.

In post 555 you state there are hard borders between Lichtenstein, Switzerland and Norway and their EU neighbours, that are not maintained.
In #556 I show that borders between these countries and the EU have been erased by treaties (e.g. schengen).

And than in #557 you come again, now telling me there are no borders.

Make up your mind, borders that are maintained or not?

Re: Not going too well for Brexit!!!

Returning to the original thread: Not going too well for brexit!!!
Brexit seems to be bang on schedule. Mrs. May is pushing the Irish border issue to the (extended?) transition period, where it belongs.
The exit negotiations can be concluded and an agreement signed, well before 29 march 2019. Than the UK is out of the EU.

During the transition period future trade relationships will be drawn up. A shared solution to the Irish question will be voiced. All will be well by 31 december 2020. Just you wait and see.
So while your politicians are at work, go to sleep england, go to sleep for ??? years.
