The Boris bridge!

As a solution to the backdrop impasse Boris is looking into building a 25 mile long bridge linking NI with the mainland. This will cost at least £15bn.

Will this solve the problem?

I would have thought so otherwise there is no point building it ...

Re: The Boris bridge!

What difference will a bridge make if there is surely still avneed for a hard border?

Has suggested this before not just the Garden Bridge for London ...

Does seem to have a thing for bridges.

Re: The Boris bridge!

I heard that there is an arms dump in that particular section of the Irish sea where a great deal of ex-war ordnance was discarded. Could cause problems.

Probably illegal immigrants will be the main users.

The bridge is meant to be the solution for the backstop issue but no idea why this is a solution. Something to do with not having the border in the north sea?

You can have little island in the middle where check of persons and goods are performed. That's no border, that's bridging the gap.

But isn't a bridge a border anyway? You still get a point at either end of it for checks. Same as a wall, or a pond.

And puppy farm smugglers would be delighted too.
