Scotland Overturns the Proroguing of Parliament

Well, just when Brexit couldn't get more twists and turns, the Scottish Supreme Court rules that Boris' proroguing of Parliament as not lawful.

Well, good news is that Mays withdrawal treaty is well and truly dead in the water if this is the case.

Moving 1 step closer to no deal

Just seen a breaking news item that the Scottish court ruled prorogation illegal. So on to the Supreme Court for more legal arguments.

This shit is endless. Parliament may as well stay shut till the election, nothing but a talking shop

As I put on another thread this means that Mays deal is well and truly dead in the water unless it comes back significantly changed (which I doubt).

I think this moves us one step closer to a no deal Brexit. I'm not sure parliament has to be un-prorogued ?

It's up to the Supreme Court now.

The pantomime continues but nothing has changed.

The EU will never allow the UK to leave and will continue to take any and all steps to ensure it, using all their operatives within the UK parliament and elsewhere.

Yes l agree Patriot! This shit is endless? We need an election
NOW!
We will soon see who the legal eagles are backing in this
Moronic shyte, but l wont hold my breath as the courts
represent the establishment, NOT the people!
This has become a battle between the people and the
parliament and now it seems the courts !
If Boris is forced to resign or retract surely there MUST be
calls for a GE? If not it must bring the motives of the
opposition into doubt?

I am disgusted at the lengths remainders will go to so they can get their way.

You are more optimistic than me Bread! I think we are
overdue for some mass protests AGAINST parliament as
a whole? Just needs organing imo?

Scottish law only applies in Scotland as far as I know. UK law is very much different and I doubt this stupid stunt by the SNP will stand.

It doesn't make much difference anyway the party conference season has started (TUC yesterday) beginning with the Liberals next week so Parliament would rise from Monday .

Re: Scotland Overturns the Proroguing of Parliament

The remainers seem to be pressing for Boris to resign?
I disagree, THEY should call a motion of no confidence in
the government and thus forcing a GE? If they dont do this
it lays bare their true motives!
If the courts find for the litigants, as is likely, due to our
constitutional laws being largely ambiguous! For good reason
I believe? For use in cases like this!
WE MUST PRESS FOR AN ELECTION NOW and take this
shyte out of their hands!!
