I can understand that Jazzi. I did a couple of night school courses on wood carving a few years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Still got most of my tools now.

The trouble with retirement is that you don't get any days off.

..every day is a day off when I wake up and think that no one is expecting anything of me (except babysitting ) and I don't have to make an effort to look nice .

Re: What Job Would You Choose.

Yes retirement is definitely the best thing, especially if you are sick. I hated having to phone in every day when off, because the manager insisted on it. When you're retired you don't need to worry how many days/weeks it's taking.

Tell you what, I couldn't have contemplated having my surgery if I'd still been in employment! Look how much it's taken out of me? And the days needed for appointments and treatment?

Retirement means I can take more than 5 weeks holiday a year if I want.

Re: What Job Would You Choose.

In my case, if I look back at my life so far, I've done more than most, done the things I have always wanted to do, and therefore would not have wanted to do anything else.

Mind you, being retired, I now have the chance to do even more. So I suppose thats the job I would choose. To do even more than I already have!

I think I would have preferred something manual, rather than admin work. Not sure what.
