Ok this will be long so sorry about the spelling and grammar mistakes.

Called three Times sat on 7 juries 4 not worth talking about boring

The main three ones where abuse by the father against their daughter

First one was at the Old B.

Interesting fact was the defence asked a witness about his criminal convictions the Judge intervened and said are you sure you want to bring this up defence lawyer said yes.

Reason the defence lawyer did this was that his 50 year old client had never committed a crime before and so could be stated

Found Guilty.

Second on at an annex at Snaresbrook.

This lasted a whole week.

Father accused of smashing his daughters with a hammer when she was asleep.

Judge directed to give a Not guilty as the house in Layton had two lodgers as well as his other two daughters.

Found not guilty on the direction of the Judge.

Third one.

A 60 year old man a caretaker at Warren ST school in Dagenham

Was charged with the raping of a sixteen year old girl along with the girls mother who helped and had sex with her as well

We found both guilty of this Childs RAPE.

The defence lawyer asked for sentence to be postponed because next week her brother was to stand trial also accused of raping her.

That poor girl gave evidence for two days because she was told If you don't know the answer say you can't remember I have never seen any one so cowered head down voice hard to hear.

He got 10 years and her mother got 7 years and I got great satisfaction in finding these bits of filth guilty.

After the trial I went home and my daughter said to me you look sick was it that bad ….. I said yes, and thought How could any one do that a your on daughter.

Am proud that I found scum like that guilty

Re: Jury Service

Hi

I am completely against anyone involved in Prosecutions being on a Jury.

That is so wrong on so many levels.

A Jury needs to be totally separate from either Defence or Prosecution.

The one we were directed to find not guilty.

His daughter was smashed on the head with a hammer but thankfully survived but could not remember anything so was not called as a witness.

So at the ending of day one a female police officer was called

She stated that the hammer was found in the basement Photos were shown and she stated that she that the were TWO washings Machines there.

Next day we had another Three policers liars stating that in the Basement had also had two washings machines(were the blood stained hammer was found a year later)

We were shown pictures of the Basement and the two washings machines.

OMG was a C/H fitter and I recognised One was a heating Boiler and the other was a Washing Machine.

The other interesting fact about this was just below the jury box sat a court official and he opened a book showing pictures of the face of a women who had been beaten black eyes swollen face.

That women was sitting in the Public gallery.

If on a jury use your brains do not belive all the police say.

ALSO if you have question to ask Write it down and beckon the Court Usher she will read and say "I shall give this to the Judge or its not apporite" if then the judge agrees to your question will then say ask the Court your question and you will get an answer AND that is very important, tell your others on the jury that.

What you will find is one dick head who wants to be Jury Foreman(You as a jury YOU select them)who turns out to be dick head.

Good luck in April give us all the details.

Re: Jury Service

Galty that is very good advice.
I will pay attention to anything like that
Sounds like a script to a horror film.
I am sure the writers if horror steal these cases.

Re: Jury Service

well my goodness, I said a couple of days ago I would love to do jury service and I was at work today and received a text from my husband to say I too have been summoned to do jury service. I can't believe it!

My date is in April, when is yours Sweets?

My niece did it and she enjoyed every minute of it, she said it was a really good experience and would like to do it again.

Whats the chance of the two of us being called up in such a short space of time.

Now I've actually been called and not just chatting about it saying I'd like to do it, I'm nervous

Gonna have a good old read through this thread, there has been some great pointers and advice in here.

Re: Jury Service

Ok have double checked this with my daughter.

The police can be called to do jury service.

Prison officers can be called to Jury service.

My daughter can be called to do jury service as one of her co workers has just done.

She works for HOMS.

Which means she deals with the placement of convicted felons and place them as under law as Cat A convicted prisoners or not.

She reads and takes in all the facts that is said in court and the papers do not report.(Bit like a 17 boy killing a 78 old women ripping her open and eating her heart not reported)

After doing all this she can still be called and sit on a jury.

Re: Jury Service

If anyone needs to know who is excused, here is the complete list of occupations/professions:

Exemptions from jury service:

https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles...s-jury-service

There are more than I thought .....

Jobs and circumstances that allow you to claim you're excusable from jury service.

As a local government IT systems specialist, responsible for the Electoral Registration system, I could have used the excuse "the Chief Electoral Officer and anyone appointed to work with the Chief Electoral Officer" when I was summoned .....
