There are more than I thought .....

Jobs and circumstances that allow you to claim you're excusable from jury service.

As a local government IT systems specialist, responsible for the Electoral Registration system, I could have used the excuse "the Chief Electoral Officer and anyone appointed to work with the Chief Electoral Officer" when I was summoned .....
That's very interesting, thank you.

One thing that isn't mentioned specifically, and which would concern me, is my present circumstance.

I have an appointment at the eye hospital this week, and had I received a summons for jury service to include that date, I'd be worried that any examination or treatment not carried out soon might compromise my health.

Having said that, I'd be happy to perform jury service at an alternative time.

I'd like to think that my service would be put off until afterwards in those circumstances.

I mean that it's not UK - it's NI only .....

There seems to be "Citizens Advice" for Northern Ireland and Scotland but not for Wales and England .....

There ARE other advice portals for professional advice on jury service, but the NI/Scottish "Citizens Advice" pages are so good that it seems odd that England and Wales have no such internet provision.
