Re: Do You Have a Favourite Breakfast!

2 x weetabix - spread with Philly cheese and marmite.

Toast with cheese and marmite - or with marmalade.

Porridge with cream and maple syrup

Best of all - a full Irish!

I went to Dublin once......at breakfast, I asked what the full Irish was. I asked if it was the same as a full English. Was told no.
So I asked what a full Irish was.
What I was told was the same as a full English.

Either a toasted tea cake or a bacon roll. when I'm out that is, at home I just grab a cereal biscuit. Never been a big breakfast eater.

OK - De-confusion coming up!

Full English =

sausages
bacon
mushrooms
tomatoes
black pudding
fried egg
Beans - optional
bread/toast

Full Irish =

Bacon
Sausages
Black Pudding
White pudding
Fried or scrambled Eggs
Tomatoes
beans - optional - modern addition
Mushrooms
Boxty (potato cakes) or saute potatoes - never, ever, hash browns!!
Soda Bread

Edit to add - Nothing against Hash Browns per se - they are delicious - just not part of a proper full Irish - although some hotels like to include them.

I don't think I got white pudding or boxty, although this was a central Dublin hotel, so they might have watered it down for the grockles!

Re: Do You Have a Favourite Breakfast!

My breakfasts are porridge and one slice of bread and marmalade one morning and the next morning Weetabix, and a slice of bread and marmalade along with a cup of tea. If I had the same breakfast as some of you my weight would shoot up alarmingly. I would love to sit down to a "Full" English breakfast but daren,t.

Re: Do You Have a Favourite Breakfast!

At home, I like smoked salmon with either a poached or scrambled egg and toasted bagel. When out I enjoy eggs benedict and eggs royale.
