Which words or phrases do you find irritating?

There are quite a number which I dislike.
These will do for starters.

Hubby

The little woman

Darling and sweetheart when used by someone I don't know like a shop assistant.

Basically

Literally, no it's not you'd have to read about for it to be literally.

No offence and don't take this the wrong way as someone deeply offends me.

I'm just honest when you are really just rudest idiot alive.

Re: Which words or phrases do you find irritating?

I find it irritating when someone adresses me as "girl"....

Sarcasm irritates me.....

I don't like to be called "kid" as my brother used to call me.

I don't like "fill in words" like SO, BASICALLY, YA KNOW,

I don't like when someone uses the words "to be honest with you" "I got to be honest about it" "in all honesty"
and there are several others relating to the same thing.

Using The Lord's name in Vain....

I don't like it when people call you LOVE!

It's difficult. Most of these words & phrases are used tongue-in-cheek by friends. But those used by complete strangers ie. salesmen ....

Top of the list:

As an opener, out of the blue, "how are you today?" I hate it because it's a question and questions require answers. "Who wants to know?" is my favourite reply really throws them.

'How are you today', is usually a throwaway line, which doesn't require an answer, in my experience.
