This hoary myth does die hard!

The UK gets far, far more out of the EU than it puts in. Far more.

And the UK can't help reform the EU - which does need doing - if it is not a member of it.

Actually, I think there is a lot of truth in what that historian says. The mindset of a lot of people is rooted in the past.

Half the Tory backbenchers, and a goodly dollop of people on these forums seem to think that Britain still has an empire.
