Perhaps as kids we needed calcium for growing bones so it wasn't so disgusting. My stomach did turn UJ when you mentioned those spinal discs. They are pretty unappealing.

Easy solution .......buy a tin of skinned and boneless salmon a few bob extra, but no waste

As an alternative to malt vinegar Rhian darlin' - I sometimes use Horseradish sauce to mash into the salmon - gives it an added spicy kick !!!

I hate skin & bone. I buy skinless/boneless salmon.
