IIRC, the Ford Corsair was faster than most of its' type, easily achieving 100 mph .....

Never had one either although I wish I had one now.

Re: Ford Capri

I have owned a Ford Anglia and a Mk1 Escort both suffered from the British motor industry's habit of installing ridiculously tiny engines. However the Ford Ranger I quite like.

Nice looking vehicle. Wouldn't mind one of those myself Bruce. Of course, over here, it would have to run on Bio yoghurt or it would upset the snowflakes.

Sorry RS, never realised the 50 was age related, thought it was something to do with IQ.

Re: Ford Capri

Just goes to prove that being a certain age makes people go off the beaten track. Happens all the time on here.
Any more about the Ford Capri...anyone?

Spitfire there are lots of people who say that they wish they had kept a hold of there retro ford's, I sold my one about 10 years ago .

I thought it was a good idea at the time because I went and bought a nice posh BMW because I only like rear wheel drive cars. The only problem was the BMW turned out to be so unreliable it spent more time on the back of the AA lorry and in the garage than it did on the road!! I only had it a few months.

I wanted to get another capri because I soon realised that modern cars were not for me , I started looking online every night for a capri that I fancied . I could not believe my luck when I found my capri that I had sold a year earlier up for sale down in England (Cockermouth) so I phoned the guy and told him I would come down and pick it up the next day and so I did !!. Never forget the way I felt driving my old capri back home to Scotland again It felt so good . I will never sell her again I enjoy working on the capri and keeping her in tip top condition but most of all I just love driving her .😉😀

Re: Ford Capri

I now have a BMW, and a Honda motorcycle, as side issues, that is enough, for the moment.

Wow !! That's a nice looking transit? Pity you don't have it locked away in a garage some where it would be worth a small fortune. My favourite ford engine has to be the pinto they are so easy to work on and tune up I can change the timing belt in around ten minutes try doing that with a modern car !! But most of all they are ultra reliable as long as you change the oil regularly. I fitted electronic ignition to mine as the points and condensers you buy these days are poor quality so the electronic ignition is the best bet .

I would love to put up a photo of my capri on here but I just can't seem to download it on this site.
